    Description

    Ambroxol hydrochloride is an aromatic amine and is a metabolite of bromhexine. Ambroxol hydrochloride is sometimes known as hydrochloric acid bromine cyclohexylamine alcohol. Its chemical name is trans-4-[(2-amino-3,5-dibromo-benzyl) amino] cyclohexanol hydrochloride.

    Ambroxol hydrochloride is a grume dissolving agent, which can help in the breakdown of thick mucus, making it easier to clear from the respiratory tract.

    Uses

    Ambroxol hydrochloride is indicated for secretolytic therapy in bronchopulmonary diseases associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport. It promotes mucus clearance, facilitates expectoration, and eases productive cough, allowing patients to breathe freely and deeply. Ambroxol hydrochloride can enhance the concentration of antibiotics in lung tissue when used in combination with them.
